Electrically Calcined Anthracite (ECA) is produced in vertical furnaces under temperature of 1800℃~2200℃, obtaining a devolatized and semi-graphitized product. Calcining is controlled to achieve a significant lower Electrical Resistivity (E.R.- µΩm), ranging from 550µΩm to 750µΩm depends on customer’s needs.

ECA is mainly used as an ingredient in the production of carbon paste for aluminum smelter, and is applied as tap-hole filling in special ferroalloy furnaces. It is also used as recarburizer in special steel production and foundry process because of its lower sulfur, nitrogen and hydrogen contents.
